For accountants, mortgage brokers, lawyers, wealth managers and relocation firms
Your clients who let a London flat from abroad
Flatward is building property management for owners living abroad, at a planned flat £149 a month including VAT instead of 12–18% of the rent. We'd like to work with the advisers those owners already trust.
What your clients get
A free fee audit, now
They send 12 months of agent statements and get a one-page breakdown: management fees, VAT, renewal and admin charges, and the same year at the planned flat fee. On a £2,500 a month flat at 15% + VAT, that's £5,400 a year against £1,788.
A planned flat fee
£149 a month including VAT, built for owners abroad: finding a new tenant included, non-resident landlord tax handled, and rent guarantee cover planned to be included.
Control from abroad
Repairs quoted and approved from their phone, inside rules they set, in their own time zone.
What you get
Cleaner records
Planned: itemised monthly statements, an annual summary for the UK tax year, categorised expenses with contractor invoices attached, and Non-Resident Landlord Scheme figures in one place. Quarterly figures are designed with Making Tax Digital for landlords in mind.
Something useful to offer
The audit puts a real number on what a client's agent costs. That's a conversation your clients will thank you for, at no cost to you or them.
Introductions both ways
Owners who come to us often need a specialist expat tax adviser, a mortgage broker or a lawyer. We'd rather send them to people we know.
How it works
- You introduce a client, with their permission. A one-line email to us is enough, or pass on our one-page client handout (PDF). Ask us for a copy with your firm's name on it, so we know who sent them.
- We run the free fee audit and send it to the client. With their permission, we copy you.
- The client decides. No pressure and no obligation. If they join, you get the statements you need at year end.
Referral fees
Once Flatward is trading, we'll offer a referral fee for introductions that become clients, with the terms in writing. We'll set it up so you can disclose it to your client and get their consent, as the ICAEW and ACCA codes require of members who receive commissions. Until then, we're offering introductions both ways and free audits for your clients.
Mortgage brokers: any payment between us would also need disclosing to the client under FCA rules.
